DEQ Unveils 15th Anniversary Booklet

Environmental History Project Launches Today
April 1, 2008 marks the 15th anniversary of the formation of Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality. Flourish Creative was selected to create a keepsake "time capsule" booklet celebrating this landmark year, and it was a wonderful project to be involved in. We did months of research, conducted interviews with 25-plus policy-makers and environmental activists, and created a book that will be used to inform future generations about the state of Virginia's environment from the 20th and early 21st centuries. These booklets (printed entirely on 100% post-consumer waste paper) are being distributed to General Assembly members, educators, and others. A video using the content from the booklet has also been produced. The director of DEQ, David K. Paylor, unveiled the history project at the Environment Virginia Conference dinner held this week in Lexington.
